Andrew Preston (B.Sc, Cert. Pkg, M.A.I.P., M.A.I.F.S.T.) – Managing Partner: The Appointments Group. Prior to his career in recruitment, Andrew had over twenty years’ experience in the Food and Packaging Industries having worked for such companies as Edgell-Birds Eye/Simplot, The Uncle Toby’s Company, Murray Goulburn Co-op and the CSIRO. Andrew has held senior roles in manufacturing, packaging development, research, sales, marketing and business development.
Kay Watts (A.I.M.S; B.A. S.Sc; Cert, Mktg; M.A. Mgmt) – Principal Consultant: Food, Packaging and Life Sciences. Kay began her career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist – Biochemistry, Microbiology, Haematology and Serology. She now has over 18 years of experience in senior marketing and sales management roles related to the food and life sciences industries.
Richard Broughton - Senior Consultant. - Based in Sydney, Richard arrived from the UK after working for 12 years as a derivatives broker. Combining a strong and passionate interest in the wine industry with 8 years of recruitment experience in Australia, he has a particularly good grasp of the sales, marketing and distribution requirements of the industry.
Belinda Chung (BSc, PhD, M.A.I.F.S.T) - Belinda is a PhD graduate of the University of New South Wales, majoring in Food Science and Technology. Belinda’s experience in the food industry has been in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and food microbiology. Her technical knowledge and multilingual ability has led to many successful placements in the food and beverage industries in Australia as well as overseas.
Hayley Turner (B.Sc Food Science and Nutrition) – Senior Consultant - Hayley specialises in food and packaging appointments. She began her career in food product development and production in the UK and moved into food buying for Marks & Spencer in London – a leader in the retail industry. Moving to Australia, Hayley was the National Gourmet Food Buyer for David Jones and then moved into food and wine retail. Hayley has an extensive food industry background that is the cornerstone of her excellent service to customers.
Wally Young (B.Sc Food Science) - Senior Consultant - Wally has over thirty years experience working in the Australian Food Industry across a range of senior technical and production roles. Wally is the principal of our Brisbane office and is able to provide valuable experience to our Queensland customer and candidates.
Maria Lopez (B.Sc. Mgmt, Diploma in Commercial Cookery & Patisserie) - Senior Consultant, NSW. Prior to moving to Australia, Maria worked in the areas of Marketing, Sales Communication and Publishing. It was her role as a Contributor & Editor for a food magazine that sparked an interest in the food industry. Maria also worked as a chef before moving on to a recruitment role with a focus in the food and hospitality industries.
